Miami International Airport aims to facilitate the travelling experience by offering comprehensive and accessible services to its passengers. Information centres, lost and found offices and customer services located throughout the terminal provide support to passengers according to their needs. The myMIAccess programme, specially designed for passengers with disabilities, enhances accessibility with services such as multisensory rooms, wheelchair charging stations and visual assistance applications. In addition, facilities such as baggage wrapping and luggage storage services, hotel accommodation and military guesthouses are also available. MIA aims to provide a comfortable and hassle-free travel experience by offering solutions tailored to the needs of each passenger.

Accessibility

Miami International Airport (MIA) has developed comprehensive services and infrastructure aimed at providing an inclusive and accessible travel experience for all passengers. These efforts were crowned in 2023 when the airport received the Accessibility Improvement Accreditation awarded by Airports Council International (ACI). Services for Passengers with Mobility Impairments

MIA offers various services for passengers with reduced mobility. There are 10 wheelchair charging stations throughout the terminal. These stations allow electric wheelchair and scooter users to safely charge their devices.

Autonomous Wheelchairs

MIA is the first airport in the US to introduce autonomous wheelchairs developed by WHILL Inc. These vehicles serve American Airlines passengers in Concourse D and E.

Multisensory Rooms

For passengers with autism spectrum disorders and similar cognitive differences, MIA has two Multi-Sensory Rooms. These rooms are located in Concourse D and J, after the security check. It aims to reduce travellers’ stress and anxiety by providing a calm and stimulating environment. Nearby family-friendly lounges are also available.

MIAair Programme

Through the MIAair programme, individuals with cognitive or developmental disabilities and their families can rehearse the airport experience before the actual flight. Service Animal Areas

For passengers travelling with service animals, service animal relief areas are available in Concourses D, F, G and J, as well as outside areas in Concourses D, E and J. These areas are equipped with synthetic grass, fire hydrants, waste bags and washbasins. Details at animal relief areas.

MIAmamas Lactation Rooms

For breastfeeding mothers, there are special breastfeeding rooms, called MIAmamas, in each concourse. These rooms offer mothers a quiet and private space. Shopping is nearby: Miami Airport stores.

Tourist Information Counters

Miami International Airport (MIA) provides Tourist Information Counters across its terminals to support passengers with travel needs. Desks are located in Concourse D, Concourse E, Concourse H and Concourse J, with the main office on the 2nd floor of Central Terminal E near the airport hotel. Open daily from 06:00 to 22:00, these counters offer multilingual assistance, translation services, TDD support for hearing-impaired passengers, customer complaint handling and lost property services when the Lost Property Office is closed.
